Delivering outstanding photographic quality with 5760 Optimised dpi using Resolution Performance Management (RPM) Technology and a new one-inch wide Multi Layer Piezo (MLP) print head, the Epson STYLUS PHOTO R800 is literally packed with leading-edge technologies. Among these is Epson’s Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) for ink droplets as small as 1.5pl. In combination with the printers 1440 nozzles (180 nozzles per colour), photographic prints exhibit optimum precision and incredibly smooth gradation of colours and tones. With exceptional levels of water-resistance, lightfastness (over 80 years*) and gasfastness (over 30 years*), the Epson STYLUS PHOTO R800 ensure optimum durability for photographic prints.

Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss™ Ink
A major feature in both the Epson STYLUS PHOTO R800 is the Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss pigment ink for all seven colours – Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Red, Blue, Matte Black, Photo Black and Gloss Optimiser. The revolutionary Gloss Optimiser and ink formulation delivers enormous enhancements to photographic prints through a dramatic overall improvement to light reflection uniformity and a wider colour gamut.

Broad Media Support
The Epson STYLUS PHOTO R800 (A4) printer support exceptionally broad ranges of media, all of which can be printed using Epson’s True BorderFree™ edge-to-edge technology. From cut sheet to roll paper, both printers produce high quality photographs on gloss and matte finish.

A major advantage delivered to photographers by means of the broad media support is the ability to print – in absolute fine detail – larger photos, including panoramas, captured by today’s growing number of high capacity digital cameras.

Expanded and PowerfulSoftware Bundle
Bundled with a thoroughly comprehensive range of photo management software, the Epson STYLUS PHOTO R800 have everything it takes for powerful photograph editing and printing. With software such as Print CD and the Epson Creativity Suite, decorative frames, CD designs and special effects can be achieved in seconds. Other inclusions with this impressive software bundle are Epson’s Web-To-Page, Easy Photo Print and Darkroom.

For serious photographers, the printers RAW Print software provides full support for printing RAW image data generated by many of the major brand digital SLR cameras. This powerful feature enables the Epson STYLUS PHOTO R800 to print photographs using the precise data as captured by the camera.

Control, Speed and Workflow
USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connectivity and advanced IEEE 1394 (FireWire) are standard high-speed features of the Epson STYLUS PHOTOR800 printer. With embedded image processing technology for digital photography workflow colour consistency between the original photo data and final print has been given a major boost. Along with the new Adobe® RGB Mode and ICC profile manipulation compatible with Windows® and Macintosh® operating systems, both printers’ digital photography workflows also include the current Epson vivid and standard colour modes.

Adding even greater flexibility and power is the new Auto Photo Enhance workflow, which can distinguish between landscapes and portraits. In the case of a landscape, for example, Auto Photo Enhance automatically adjusts and improves the clarity of features such as vegetation and sky colours.

Print Direct to CD / DVD
The Epson STYLUS PHOTO R800 support easy, high quality direct-to-surface printing on compatible inkjet-printable 8cm and 12cm CD / DVD-Rs. In fact, the CD / DVD-R direct-to-surface print capabilities are the easiest to use of any Epson printer for CD / DVD-Rs that may be subjected to constant handling, there is even a High Duty CD-DVD-R printing mode that affords greater print durability.
